Large events with international participation pose no problem for us.About 1.500 tourism-experts from 51 countries met in Stuttgart from 28. - 30. April 2002. The Germany Travel Mart of the German Board of Tourism is considered the most important market-place for travel purchasers worldwide. An event where V.I.T. applied its experience to full capacity. How can well-versed adventure experts be surprised?
We willingly undertook this challenging task. V.I.T organised the realisation of the 3 supporting evening programs in Stuttgart and the surrounding area.
Our tasks were: planning, choice and briefing of all subcontractors, finding and care of artists, transfer-coordination, choice and supervision of the catering, technology planning, direction as well as assembly and cutback planning at the locations.
The official opening on the first evening took place with VIP's from the areas of politics, economy and science in the Hegelsaal of the Culture- and Congress Centre in the Liederhalle. The program on stage was the string orchestra of the Stuttgart Philharmonic, the Wuerttemberg chamber-choir, "Earl Krolock" from "Tanz der Vampire" and the rhythmical gymnastics of the Olympic Sportcenter Fellbach-Schmiden entertaining the audience.
Behind the scenes the V.I.T. team arranged for the smooth running, supervised the 50 artists and coordinated the whole technical side of the operation. After the program the guests - accompanied by 200 costumed performers - went to their final destination the Canstatter Frühlingsfest, were the "Grandl" pavillion had been rented exclusively for them and they could celebrate well into the night.
The second evening sent the tourism experts to an idyllic baroque scene in the Ludwigsburg Castle: More than 200 artists, musicians, performers in historical costume and guards revived former court life and spoilt the guests - and their senses - with many treats before the convivial evening in the Forum am Schlosspark ended.
The farewell party on the final evening took place under the motto: "Sport city Stuttgart" in the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadium and the VFB Business center. The guests entered the interior space of the stadium through a tunnel of flags. The aperitif on the lawn was enhanced by a goal wall scoring, gym wheel performances, hot-air balloons and further sporting activities.
After the farewell dinner, which was accompanied by "close-up" artists, acrobats and jugglers, the participants of the German Travel Mart 2002 reviewed the previous days with a cocktail at the piano bar or at the dance in the GTM-disco.
When are you ready for "arena open"?
